We can provide patients with safe and efficient surgical solutions.
It’s important to clear up some common misunderstandings:
Oral surgery falls under a distinct category from general dentistry. If you haven’t specifically opted for dental coverage, it doesn’t matter. As long as your policy includes provisions for impacted or partially erupted teeth, chances are you’re covered.
Many insurance companies offer comprehensive coverage, including anesthesia options. This is especially beneficial considering that surgical procedures under general anesthesia can typically range from $6,000 to $9,000. However, some insurers may cap their claim payouts at around $5,000, which typically covers IV Sedation but not General Anesthesia.
However, there are a few points to be aware of:
Some policies may not cover the cost of the teeth themselves but may contribute towards your consultation expenses. Certain policies may require that surgery be performed within six months of the initial consultation to honor the claim for consultation fees.
Most insurance companies won’t cover fully erupted teeth, where the entire crown is visible and properly aligned. In such cases, if other teeth are covered, we can usually offer a discounted rate for the extraction of the erupted tooth, with consultation and X-rays covered.
It’s important to note that insurance companies, with the exception of ACC, typically do not cover implants.
Disclaimer:
As your insurance policy represents a contract between you and your provider, it’s your responsibility to verify your coverage. Some companies have rejected claims in the past due to insufficient duration of coverage or pre-existing condition clauses.
Always check the details with your insurance provider to avoid any surprises
