Dental Extraction

We can provide patients with safe and efficient surgical solutions.

Why get one?

Sometimes it can be difficult to extract other teeth due to infection, or because the crown of the tooth has come away and the roots have been left behind, under the gum, causing pain and discomfort. Sometimes patients just feel too anxious, and we can help with that too.

We can offer more choice for anaesthesia, including local anaesthetic, IV sedation, and in some cases general anaesthesia.

David is experienced and skilled in extracting difficult teeth, this means surgical extractions are generally much quicker and more comfortable for patients.

We offer free post op appointments to those that need it, and we always ring to check on how people are doing after their extraction.

What’s Involved

Most dental extractions are straightforward procedures. However, complexity can increase when the tooth is broken below the gum, when roots are close to nerves or the maxillary sinus, or when future implant placement needs to be considered — in which case, bone preservation or grafting may be required during the extraction.

Your level of anxiety and the complexity of the procedure will help guide the decision about anaesthesia. Many patients referred for surgical extractions choose TCI IV sedation, which provides a controlled, relaxed experience while you maintain your own breathing. The sedation is tailored to your body using a computerised pump, and you are monitored throughout.

At your consultation, we’ll explain exactly what’s involved in your specific case, discuss the options, and give you printed information to take away. There is no obligation to proceed on the day.
