Dr David Chin-Shong
Dr David Chin-Shong is an experienced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who graduated in medicine in 1996 from the Royal Collage of Surgeons, in Ireland and Dentistry in 2002 from University College Cork. He completed his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in London and Liverpool and successfully became a consultant surgeon in 2006. While working in the UK David received two UK Aesthetic Dentistry awards which he credits to team work. David is now also a registered practitioner with the New Zealand Medical Council, the Dental Council of New Zealand and he is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. David remains committed to on-going professional development to ensure that he continues to deliver the best treatment options going as technology advances in dentistry.
David’s passion is to use his experience and exceptional skills in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery to support our local dentists in delivering the highest standard of care when it comes to complex problems while ensuring that patients have a positive and comfortable experience, where they feel understood, in control and supported throughout their treatment journey.
David himself has a diverse background with an Asian father who taught him the importance of hard work and diligence and an Irish mother who encouraged good people skills, communication, and a great sense of humour. In his free time, David enjoys spending time with his children, as well as playing golf, or having barbeques with family and friends.
